It is a non-profit corporation registered with the State and managed by a duly elected Board of Directors.
Its purpose is to maintain all common areas and to govern the community in accordance with the provision of the legal documents (e.g., Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, Covenants and Restrictions, etc.). The corporation is financially supported by all members of the homeowners association. Membership is both automatic and mandatory.
The Declarations of Covenants and Restrictions (sometimes referred to as "Declaration, Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions", "DCCRs", "CCRs", or "DCRs") are the governing legal documents that set up the guidelines for the operation of the planned community as a non-profit corporation. The CCRs are recorded by the Parish recorder's office in which the property is located and are included in the title to your property. Failure to abide by the CCRs may result in a fine to a homeowner by the Association.

By-Laws are specific rules designed to enforce how an HOA is run, usually on a day-to-day basis. However, the Myrtle Hill HOA utilizes its covenants and restrictions for this purpose.
The HOA does not have the right of first refusal.
Every owner of a residence or unoccupied lot in the Myrtle Hill subdivision is automatically a member.
An invitation to join HOA meetings will be emailed to all members approximately one week prior. If you do not receive this email, please make sure your information in our directory is up to date.
HOA meetings are tentatively scheduled for each quarter on the third Thursday. If held in person, they usually take place at Zachary's Public Library. All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The goal of our association is to preserve Myrtle Hill's character and everyone's financial investment. We have the best subdivision in the area and we work hard to keep it clean and inviting. With your help and support, we will continue to improve and increase in value.
Expenditures include, but are not limited to, street signs, maintenance of landscaped areas, water utilities near main entrance, a P.O. box, a website domain, and printed signs/placards. Additional information is available in the treasurer's reports during HOA meetings.
Late payments will result in a one-time late charge of $25 in addition to the annual fee. Furthermore, §6.2 of our Covenants and Restrictions allow the Association to place a lien on your property.

🗑 General trash is collected on Mondays and Thursdays.
♻️ Acceptable recycling products are collected on Mondays. If they are not collected on a Monday for any reason, Waste Management is known to collect them the following Thursday.
There are various locations to recycle household hazardous materials. Baton Rouge also has locations for recycling.
If you need a recycle "green" bin, they are available free of charge at the City Annex.
🌳 Bulk waste (e.g., tree limbs, leaves, white goods, furniture, etc.) is collected on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month in the morning.

More information regarding truck spraying is available from the CDC.
Per §5.7 of the covenants and restrictions, no signs of any kind or description, other than standard real estate signs, shall be displayed on any lot.
